Hail, Mary: Lecture on Marian Art
Celebrate the May Queen by learning about The Blessed Mother in art!

Annunciation by Henry Ossawa Tanner
For centuries, artists have depicted the Mother of God. During this hour-long presentation, you'll learn the language of artists, what inspired and influenced their portrayals of the Virgin Mother.
This presentation is entitled: Hail, Mary: a journey through representation of the Blessed Mother in art and history. It is composed of beautiful imagery, art history, Catholic history, opportunities for prayer and reflection, and music.
The presentation will take place at 7:00pm in the Lower Shrine chapel, after a short musical prelude around 6:45pm.
