Common Questions

How much is the wedding fee for the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia?

We charge $1,200 for couples to use the Shrine building for a wedding and rehearsal. This does not include payment for musicians or your presider.

Does the Shrine have (fill-in-the-blank)?

The National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia has several amenities, including:

  • a large parking lot

  • an elevator

  • air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter

Do I have to be Catholic to be married in the Shrine?

At least one of the parties being married needs to be Catholic. We do not host non-Catholic weddings. Thank you for understanding.

Can I register as a parishioner to get a cheaper price?

The $1,200 fee is for any couple getting married. The National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia is not a parish, and therefore we don't offer a parishioner rate.

Can I bring my own priest? or Do I need to have my own priest?

If you have a priest that you know well, you are welcome to invite them to preside at your wedding. However, if you don't have a priest, that's okay! Fr. Jim Spenard, one of our Augustinian priests, will be happy to discuss all the details with you and help find a presider for your wedding day.

Music

All wedding music is to be provided by our Shrine musicians. The musicians’ stipends are not included in the price of the Shrine listed above. Our organist and Music Director, Mr. Michael Sheerin, will be happy to discuss the music for your special day.

For Couples Selecting Music:

If you have already spoken with Michael Sheerin and are ready to make your music selections, all your options are available to listen to here. If you have any questions, please follow up with Michael.
