You can remember your loved ones, living or deceased, with a variety of memorial candle options throughout the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia. Patrons and visitors will see your loved ones' names as they visit and offer prayers in their memory. Annual Candles in the Lower Shrine
Candles are available in several locations throughout the Lower Shrine:
perimeter of the bronze statue of Saint Rita of Cascia
in front of the Blessed Maria Fasce fresco
in front of the statue of Saint Augustine of Hippo
in front of the statue of Saint John the Baptist
in front of the statue of Saint Nicholas of Tolentine
on either side of the relic of Saint Rita of Cascia
Candles are available to purchase annually:
One Year: $200 | Subsequent Years: $150
Votive Candles in the Upper Shrine
Weekly and monthly votive candles are also available to purchase in the Upper Shrine in front of the relic of Saint Rita of Cascia. Even though there will be no written name on these candles, the intention will be spoken aloud on the first day the candle is lit.

Virtual Candles: Coming Soon
Even if you aren’t able to physically join us at the Shrine to light a candle, we invite you to light a virtual candle for a loved one or for your own special intention. The virtual candles will stay lit for 24 hours and will provide you with a link to share with your friends and family.
