General Chapter in Rome

Over the next month, Augustinians from around the world will be gathering in Rome for the 188th General Chapter of the Order of Saint Augustine. You may have seen video footage of Pope Leo XIV presiding over the opening Mass last weekend. Our prayers are with the 83 delegates from 50 countries, especially as they choose the Order’s next Prior General. The Prior General is elected for a six-year term and is the head of the Order and its supreme authority, after the General Chapter. The Order commends its administration and governance into his care with confidence in his foresight and faithfulness.

Saint Rita and Saint Augustine, keep praying for us.
